Scanning electron microscope is a kind of precision optical instrument, so it is also very important to do the daily maintenance and maintenance of the microscope while using it correctly. Paying attention to the good maintenance and maintenance of the microscope can extend the use time of the microscope and ensure that the microscope can always be in good working condition. Keeping the optical components clean is very important to ensure good optical performance. When the microscope is not in use, the microscope should be covered with the dust cover provided by the instrument. If there is dust and dirt on the optical surface and the instrument, you should use a blower to blow off the dust or use a soft brush to remove the dirt before wiping the surface.

Wiping method of microscope and precautions for scanning electron microscopy

Today, the editor will introduce to you the wiping method and precautions of the optical system and mechanical parts of the microscope:

1. Optical system wipe

Usually, clean the surface of each optical part of the microscope with a clean brush or wipe clean with lens cleaning paper. If there are indelible dirt, oil stains or fingerprints on the lens, mold, fog, and reuse after long-term use, you need to wipe it before using it.

1. Wiping range: The eyepiece and condenser are allowed to be disassembled and wiped. Due to the complex structure of the objective lens, a special instrument is required to correct it during assembly to restore the original accuracy, so it is strictly forbidden to disassemble and wipe it.

When removing the eyepiece and condenser, pay attention to the following points:

a. Be careful

b. When disassembling, it is necessary to mark the installation position of each component (can be marked on the shell), the relative order and the front and back of the lens to prevent mistakes when reinstalling.

c. The operating environment should be kept clean and dry. When removing the eyepiece, just unscrew the upper and lower lenses from both ends. The field diaphragm inside the eyepiece cannot be moved. Otherwise, the boundary of the field of view will be blurred. It is strictly forbidden to further disassemble the upper lens after the condenser is unscrewed. Because the upper lens is immersed in oil, it has been well sealed before leaving the factory, and further decomposition will destroy its sealing performance and damage it.

2. Wiping method First use a clean brush or ear ball to remove the dust on the surface of the lens. Then use a clean flannel to make a spiral one-way movement from the center of the lens to the edge. After wiping, change the flannel to another place and wipe again until it is clean. If there are oil stains, dirt or fingerprints on the lens that cannot be wiped off, use willow twigs to wrap absorbent cotton, dipped in a small amount of alcohol and ether mixture (80% alcohol, 20% ether) to wipe. If there are heavier mildew spots or mildew spots that cannot be removed, use a cotton swab dipped in water and then stick to calcium carbonate powder (content above 99%) to wipe. After wiping, the powder should be removed. Whether the lens is clean, you can observe and check with the reflected light on the lens. It should be noted that the dust must be removed before wiping. Otherwise, the sand particles in the dust will groove the mirror surface. Do not use towels, handkerchiefs, clothes, etc. to wipe the lenses. Too much alcohol and ether mixture is not available, so as to prevent the liquid from entering the bonding part of the lens and degumming the lens. There is a purple-blue light-transmitting film on the surface of the lens. Don't wipe it off by mistake.

2. Wipe the mechanical part

The painted part of the surface can be wiped with a cloth. But do not use organic solvents such as alcohol or ether to avoid paint stripping. If the unpainted part is rusty, wipe it off with a cloth dipped in gasoline. After cleaning, re-apply the protective grease.

Troubleshooting of scanning electron microscopy of coarse adjustment part:

The main fault of the coarse adjustment is the inconsistency of tightness during automatic sliding or lifting. The so-called automatic sliding down refers to the phenomenon that the lens barrel, mirror arm or stage is still in a certain position, without adjustment, under the action of its own weight, it will automatically fall down slowly. The reason is that the gravity of the lens barrel, mirror arm, and stage itself is greater than static friction. The solution is to increase the static friction to make it greater than the gravity of the lens barrel or the lens arm itself.

For the rough adjustment mechanism of the inclined tube and most binocular microscopes, when the mirror arm automatically slides down, you can use both hands to hold the anti-pulley on the inner side of the coarse adjustment handwheel respectively, and tighten both hands in the clockwise direction to stop the sliding . If it does not work, you should find a professional to repair it.

The lens barrel automatically slides down, which often gives people the illusion that it is caused by the loose fit between the gear and the rack, so spacers are added under the rack. In this way, although the sliding of the lens barrel can be temporarily stopped, it makes The gear and rack are in an abnormal bite state. As a result of the movement, both the gear and the rack are deformed. Especially when the pads are uneven, the deformation of the rack becomes more severe, and the result is that one part bites tightly and the other bites loosely. Therefore, this method should not be adopted.

In addition, due to the long-term disrepair of the coarse adjustment mechanism, the lubricating oil dries up and will produce uncomfortable feelings when lifting, and even the friction of the parts can be heard. At this time, the mechanical device can be removed for cleaning, greased and reassembled.
